What's the BIG deal about Hail Damage?

After a Hail Storm most, people will inspect their car for damages. Car damage is fairly easy to spot; it's either damaged or it's not. An asphalt shingle roof is quite different. When wind driven hail as small as a nickel hits an asphalt shingle, it may cause a bruise.

The bruise or initial damage may be hard or even impossible to spot by the untrained eye, and later, if left unattended will cause the asphalt shingles to deteriorate further from the ultra violet rays of the sun.

This process starts slowly but progressively worsens; resulting in leaks and lessens the water shed integrity of your roof.

STORM DAMAGE!

WHATS NEXT!   The FREE Hail Inspection Process!

Step 1.

ROOF Inspection: During your Free assessment our Certified Representative will inspect the entire property for storm damage. Our Inspectors will perform an Engineering Square Test to the Roof. This test will determine the extent of the damage to the roofing shingles and if heavy winds have compromised the functional-ability of the shingle.

Step 2.

EXTERIOR Inspection: Inspect the entire exterior of the property. Small Hail Stones can compromise areas of the home which are difficult to identify from the ground. Inspection includes siding, guttering, downspouts, copper and soft metals, painted surfaces, windows, screens and air- conditioning units.

Step 3.

PHOTOGRAPHIC Report: D&D Construction Inc. will take detailed photos of all damage. We have found that presenting photos of the damage to your property helps you to understand how hail may compromise your roof and the exterior of your home. Based on our report we will recommend whether it warrants filing a claim with your Insurance Company.

THE CATASTROPHE

The Metro Atlanta and surrounding suburbs experienced severe storms from March 14 to March 16 2008.

According to Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxedine, the estimated damages are between $350 to $400 Million. By that standard, it was the costliest storm in the State's history.

These storms produced Tornados, Heavy Winds and large amounts of Hail across the Northern Suburbs.
